I'm a new artist about to release my first track, what do I do?
You can publish your first single on Lingonperry even if you haven't released it elsewhere yet. Through Lingonperry's Music Box distribution service you can also upload it to other platforms.
I've already released tracks to Spotify, what now?
Even if you've already released music to other platforms, you can still upload it to Lingonperry. You can also share new releases directly to Spotify through Lingonperry's Music Box distribution service.
I have multiple releases on DistroKid and would like to switch to Lingonperry, what do I do?
Even if you've previously released music through other digital distributors, your old releases can be transferred to Lingonperry's Music Box distribution service. New releases can also be distributed from Lingonperry to your existing streaming profiles.
Can I choose which platforms to distribute to?
If you use Lingonperry's Music Box distribution service, you can choose your desired streaming platforms from hundreds of options, including the most well-known ones. You can also select the countries where your music is distributed.
How do I publish my music on Lingonperry?
Uploading a track to Lingonperry requires an mp3 or wav file and the required metadata. You can read more in our blog.
Does the service cost the artist anything?
Publishing music on Lingonperry is completely free. You can also listen to music for free with monthly Freemium Credits.
What are Credits?
Credit is Lingonperry's internal currency used to pay for platform features and to settle royalties. You can read more about Credits in our blog.
How many releases can I make?
There is no limit on the number of releases on Lingonperry, so you can publish as many as you want.
How is this different from DistroKid?
Lingonperry doesn't just offer a distribution service to other platforms — Lingonperry is also a streaming platform that pays artists fair royalties based on the User-Centric Royalty principle.
How is this different from Spotify?
Royalty payments on Lingonperry are based on the User-Centric Royalty principle, so artists are paid according to how much each paying listener has actually listened to them. On top of that, we offer artists the ability to distribute their music to other streaming platforms through the Music Box service.
If I'm on Lingonperry, do I also receive payments from other streaming platforms?
If you've uploaded your music to other streaming platforms via another distribution service (e.g. DistroKid), you'll still receive your royalties through them. If you've uploaded your music to other platforms via Lingonperry's Music Box service, royalty payments from those platforms come to your Lingonperry artist page's Credit balance after commissions.
What is User-Centric Royalty?
User-Centric Royalty (UCR) is a royalty model in which each listener's personal royalty pool is split among artists in proportion to how much they have actually listened to each one. You can read more about the User-Centric Royalty principle in our blog.
